Is medical quarantine necessary for foreigners entering China?

Are epidemic control measures taken by foreigners the same as those by Chinese citizens?

Both foreigners and Chinese citizens are treated as equal in applying epidemic control measures. We will fully take care of their reasonable needs and have respect for their religious beliefs and customs. After entering China, community administration shall provide necessary assistance to help solve their difficulties in daily life.

 

How can inbound foreigners submit health declarations?

All entry-exit personnel shall submit health declaration, which would be reviewed by customs of the ports to check if they have been to epidemic-stricken country or area within 14 days or have had close contact with confirmed cases. Health declaration form is translated in ten-plus languages and could be filled in via a specifically-developed App on mobile phone before they arrive at the port. The App will generate a QR code for inspection at the port after online application.

 

How to prevent imported COVID-19 cases at entry-exit ports?

Entry-exit personnel shall strictly implement the following measures: firstly, see to it that health declaration is made without omission, body temperature is taken across the board and medical inspection is strictly implemented. Secondly, should there be anyone with symptoms, coming from heavily epidemic-stricken country or area, or having contact with confirmed or suspected cases, such measures as epidemiology screening, medical screening and lab testing and screening shall be strictly implemented. Thirdly, make sure that confirmed and suspected cases, cases with symptoms and close contacts are transferred to centralized sites for quarantine or medical observation.

 

Are there any protective measures put in place for international flights?

Strengthen the ventilation and disinfection of aircrafts and airports, do a good job in measuring the temperature of entry-exit passengers, intensifying personal protection and health management of frontline personnel including crew members and security personnel, and timely providing epidemic prevention and control guidance for airlines and airports, etc. In light of the spread of epidemic in some countries and regions, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has formulated region-specific and multi-level epidemic control measures in accordance with the epidemic situation and flight operating characteristics of affected country or area to distinguish flight operation risks, implement differentiated management, and achieve precise prevention and make targeted policy.

 

As the epidemic is spreading in many countries, will cross-border travel be restricted?

China will keep an eye on the spread of the epidemic and step up communications and consultations with relevant countries in line with actual situation and reduce unnecessary cross-border travel. We wish to work with other countries to facilitate communication and reduce negative impact caused by the epidemic in people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in all fields between countries.

 

How can Chinese citizens stranded in countries where the epidemic is prevailing return to China?

In response to the issue of stranded Chinese citizens, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has established a coordination mechanism for international flight, and will release flight schedule on a regular basis after coordinating with airlines both at home and abroad. Going forward, Civil Aviation Administration will maintain close contact with our embassies and consulates abroad in accordance with the epidemic situation, and arrange overtime or chartered flights to send Chinese citizens back to China if necessary.

 

As a foreigner, what can I do if my visa[FS:Page] expires during the epidemic prevention and control?

During the epidemic prevention and control period, foreigners in China can automatically extend their stay for two months upon expiration. Within the extended period, they can stay in China legally or leave China if they want without the need of going through extension procedure.

 

As a foreigner, how can I get my visa if I come to China to participate in epidemic prevention and control?

For foreigners who come to China to participate in epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic exchanges and cooperation or engage in important commercial and scientific research activities, they can apply for a visa at the port of entry if they are unable to obtain a visa ahead of time.

 

When will the postgraduate admission examination for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students take place?

Ministry of Education: 

According to the notice issued by relevant department, the 2020 postgraduate admission examination for students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, which was originally scheduled to be held from April 18 to 19, is postponed. Specific work arrangements are subject to further notice according to the progress of epidemic prevention and control.
